Embracia in Woodford Officially Opens

EmbraciaOpening0001We are delighted to have officially opened our brand new aged care home, Embracia in Woodford, located in historic and picturesque Woodford in Queensland.

In early April, we opened our doors to the community and provided hundreds of small group tours as the wonderful people from Woodford and its surrounds took the opportunity to inspect our home. We were thrilled to welcome so many people to our home and show them around our “streetscape” and our small, intimate communities, which our residents will call home when they join us.

Our official opening was on 10th April when we welcomed a number of invitees from the community to witness the Hon. Mal Brough MP officially open Embracia in Woodford.  Following a moving welcome to country from local Cr. Adrian Raedel, Kate Iles, a member of the MacKenzie family and our Living and Design Consultant, spoke to our guests about our new home.  Kate took the opportunity to acknowledge everyone who had been involved with Embracia in Woodford.  From the Woodford Aged Care Association, who approached Embracia to work with them and get the Government to recognise Woodford’s need for aged care; to the architects and builders who constructed the home; and the Embracia team who have worked for over 4 years to see the home come to fruition.  Kate also singled out our co-founders, and her parents, Peter and Dawn MacKenzie, for their passion and dedication to aged care over the last 28 years.

The Hon. Mal Brough MP shared his own personal experience of aged care, when his grandparents moved into an Embracia home as their home of choice. Mal praised the care and lifestyle Embracia provided to his grandparents, and shared with the crowd that his grandparents told him Embracia was the best place they had ever lived.  We were honoured that Mal chose to share this experience and, as an advocate for aged care in Australia, was able to formally open our home.
