On Friday 25th August, 2017, Embracia in Burpengary was officially opened by Susan Lamb MP, with the help of Bill, one of our current residents.
A small celebration was held in the theatre where Susan Lamb MP and Bill unveiled the plaque. Drinks and canapes prepared by the homes in-house chef, were enjoyed by all in the home’s café. The chef at Embracia in Burpengary ensures residents enjoy nutritious and varied home style meals.
Guests were able to enjoy a tour of the home, which has been divided into 6 individual communities, each with its own central living/dining area, kitchenette and cosy sitting areas. Two of the communities are dedicated memory support households for those living with dementia.
Each community has been thoughtfully designed to connect into the centralised streetscape, where residents can have easy access to the café, movie theatre, chapel, arcade room, & hairdressing salon, as well as other amenities. The interior design is stunning, with each community tastefully decorated with its own décor, vibrant fabrics and thoughtfully selected prints and accessories to create a home.
The weather was perfect to wander around the beautifully landscaped gardens, with smooth pathways designed for ease of use for all, including those with walkers or in wheelchairs. The under cover BBQ area, and adjacent giant chess set were a popular focus.
Embracia in Burpengary will become home to 120 residents, who will receive care from a team of qualified and experienced nursing and personal care staff, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Embracia is dedicated to providing the best in Aged Care, whilst providing support for residents to continue to enjoy life. Our new home at Burpengary will continue the tradition.
