Dawn and Peter MacKenzie
Dawn and Peter co-founded Embracia over 30 years ago. They had a passion for creating aged care that was different; their focus is to create nursing homes where residents’ lives are worth living.
Dawn is a Registered Nurse, qualified auditor, dementia care mapper and an Eden Alternative Associate. Dawn is also an experience interior designer with expertise in aged care and retirement living.
Peter is an Eden Alternative Associate and Mentor, and has played key roles in the development of the aged care industry including directorship of a National peak body.
The management and support team that leads our extended Embracia family are passionate in their commitment to the values and principles of the founding family members.
Suzanne Hoey, Operations Manager (QLD)
Suzanne has over 15 years’ experience in Aged Care in senior and executive management. Suzanne joined the Embracia family in 2006 and has grown with Embracia to become an executive manager. Suzanne has successfully commissioned two aged care homes as well as leading our national aged care operations.
Suzanne oversees the Queensland business, including the operations of Woodford and development and commissioning of Burpengary. She also provides oversight of national Quality management and Clinical governance.
Suzanne is passionate about Embracia’s philosophy and loves seeing residents become renewed and enjoy life more through the care of our teams. Suzanne is an Eden Associate and Trainer/Validator.

Gabrielle Hamilton, Executive Assistant
Gabrielle joined the Embracia family in 2015 and has worked closely with the head office team in administration and support.
Gabrielle coordinates marketing, communications, IT and business systems as well as providing administration support to the Head Office team. Gabrielle is an Eden Alternative™ Associate and is passionate about the Embracia philosophy of care. Gab works closely with our managers to ensure the head office team supports each home to provide the best care and lifestyle for our residents.
Lil Radojcic, Procurement Manager
Lil has been part of the Embracia family since 2014, bringing her expertise in Procurement to support our aged care homes. Lil puts quality care and our residents first in every negotiation, to ensure we select products and services that support high quality care and lifestyle for our residents. She also provides support to the environmental services teams to ensure they provide quality food, cleaning and maintenance to the residents.
Tony Geng, Financial Accountant
Tony joined the Embracia QLD Head Office Team in 2017.
